Rhett Hissam is a new media and installation artist whose work interweavwa digital technologies and our physical world through artistic expression. Inspired deeply by herbalism and botany, her art strives to highlight the beauty of the natural world while providing education at a deeper level.

After earning a BA in Art + Design from NC State, Rhett continued her journey in academia working as an immersive media designer in the new media development department at NCSU. Her unique design approach has led her to collaborate with esteemed organizations such as the North Carolina Museum of Art and numerous municipalities across North Carolina through public art installations and grants.

While developing her life’s work of creating a 3D digital herbarium, Rhett continues to further her knowledge of the natural world and seek out opportunites to share her perspective through artistic expression.
